As a impatient user of checkoutmycards.com, I had constantly demanded a message board. But COMC had not delivered for their own reasons. No offense taken... :-) I feel that as buyers and sellers, communicating with each other rather than through a blog is enevitable. Why?! Because we all share a passion for sports and memorbillia. Whether trying to make a buck or completing a childhood collection, the need for us to speak to each other would be downright awesome. I've had lots of offers for my cards that I have rejected, but would love to give reason why, or talk to the person through the internet and to know if they are dedicating fan of that player to where I would give in, knowing the card was going to go home, or just going to be flipped by a money hungry "CARDSHARK."

Please by all means, join up and the possibilities would be upgraded to fulfill your own personal needs.

I also am an impatient user of COMC.  I sent cards in around the 2nd week in January.  Then I sent more cards a couple of weeks later.  And I have heard nothing.  It looks like no new sellers have been added since 2/6/09.  I would think new sellers would be added more often.
In addition I have bought cards, sold cards and used a lot of store credit.  But I am not listed as a seller.
And, like you powerfam, I am an avid collector.  I flip cards because there are certain cards that have prices too good to pass up.  But my true intent on COMC is to complete a couple of sets and get my favorite players.
COMC collects this profile info on everyone.  But it is not made public.  It would be nice if they did.
And it would be nice to have a place on COMC to communicate with other people(buyers and sellers).
Lunch time.  I'll write more later.

Let me restate one thing.  I did hear that COMC had received my cards.  But that was the last I heard.
And from the last Blog..... It looks like it could be more than 6 weeks......

Just one more thing.... I want everyone to know that I like the COMC.  I just wish it took a little less time to get cards put up on the site.  It might even be nice to have your batches processed at .... say ...... 100 cards at a time.  These ccould be added to the sight and the others later.  Just a thought.
Other than that, the site is a lot of fun.  I enjoy looking at all the cards... and can't help buying some cards.  Even though I have only sold $58 worth of cards.

Well, you have to give COMC some credit though. There are working with a down economy trying to bounce back into shape. I am sure that they all have part times jobs they do just to get by like all of us try to do. I promise you, the sports card industry suffers when the economy is down because people aren't spending as much on non-necessitites. You'd be suprised to see your cards start flying once they hit the market because there is always the want for them out there. Be patient. Good things will come.

Hello to members and thanks for starting this up powerfam.  This month marks my 1 year anniversary as a member of COMC.  I've always thought it would be a good thing to be able to communicate with other members, buyers, etc.  Well done.

jbnark, great idea of partial batches or getting the easy cards online and holding off on the hard ones. Sometimes you try to send in the "HOT" players to try and sell, but the cards don't get up for weeks later and everyone has forgotten about that player. I sent in a batch a few weeks back and the email said they would be up around 2/17, but after the latest post I seem to think it might be March sometime even though it was only around 220 cards I sent in. This is my 4th or 5th shipment and really there are no complaints. Like stated before you will see cards fly off your account if priced right. I have sold in less than a year 346 of 800 cards. I remember how hard and time consuming it was to look up cards in beckett.com (when it was user friendly) make lists, and then take scans/pictures to post on ebay or where ever, then have to get the listing live and finally the shipment and all the time at the post office and lost money on shipping costs and envelopes. For what these guys at COMC do, the wait is worth it in the end. I told them I would work from my home for them if that was possible.

I'd love to see some type of referral credit for us sellers that get buyers/new sellers to the site. Say if someone got to the site from me and bought from someone else besides me, a 5% credit to my account from the total purchased off of others or even $0.05 a card would be great. More incentive to advertise and get others in on this. At checkout they could have a place for user who referred or even at sign up for accounts have a spot for referral. Just a thought.

Good idea, powerfam. Hope people catch on and begin communicating.  I'm new to COMC, but very excited about it.  I don't have much more to say at this time, but I'll be checking back!

This is a great idea. It will be nice to be able to communicate with fellow buyers and sellers. I hope this catches on. Here is my story.  COMC received my first batch on January 2, cards were posted to my account on February 12, 872 cards total. My next two batches are going to take even longer, received at COMC on January 29th not due to post till March 5th and 12th. I do not mind the wait, if I did, I would have paid for priority processing. What a great idea, I wish I would have thought about it. COMC is just going to keep getting more popular as people hear about it.
My COMC page is http://www.checkoutmycards.com/Users/steelheader1961
I hope to deal with all of you on this forum.
Thanks

This COMC forum was a great idea, powerfam..... Thanks.
Stealheader1961, I see your cards got added on the 12th.  Mine are supposed to be added the 16th.  Maybe they will make it by then.  I also have some that are supposed to be added by March 4th.  It's more than 500 cards, so I don't know if they will make 2 batches or not.  At any rate, I should see my own cards soon.  The only cards I have on COMC now are cards I purchased.  It's nice to get an email saying 'Congratulations! Some items sold'!!!!
Azsoxpatriots, thanks for the support on the partial batches.  I am not sure if that partially led to the COMC new priority shipping class or not.  But it is nice to get an email back and know they are listening to you and considering the suggestions we make.   I wonder if Tim Getsch(or anyone on the COMC staff) will join this forum?
Better get back to work.  Everyone have a great weekend.

I think I check my e-mail way too many times in a day just to look for that "congratulations! Some items sold", lol. But tell me this, what is different from that e-mail, than the one that just says "item sold?"

I love the "Some items sold" e-mails from COMC!  When I receive them, I can't wait to log on to see what sold.  Not for the money, just for the curiousity of it all!

Thanks, azsoxpatriots.
But my biggest problem is that I keep finding cards I like and buying them before I sell enough of my cards.  I have 2 batches left to be added and I keep adding money to cover the addition of those batches.  However, it seems I spend the money before COMC takes the money out for adding the batches..... Then I have to add more money!!!!!
Oh well,I have enjoyed it.  And hopefully my cards will start selling faster and I can buy more cards that I have been looking at lately.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Thank you for creating this forum.  I'll probably be an unabashed COMC apologist: I'm in Oregon, have met with Steve on several occasions, and think I understand a bit about what's going on up there in Redmond (not that I'm privy to any trade secrets - I'm not).  I know they're working as hard as they can to get our cards posted and I do get frustrated with the time delay like everyone else.  I keep reminding myself we're still in the early days of this start-up (assume less than two years is 'early'), they've now reached another level, and if the kinks can be worked out economically we'll all be happy to say we were there way back when.  You know, success can cripple or kill a new venture just as effectively as failure - but I have hunch they'll make it, and make it big.  They have a hump to get over right now, for sure.
(Memo to Tim: there are angel investment groups in Portland to pitch if you're interested.....)

I really appreciate your efforts, powerfam, and hope I can find the time to contribute from time to time.  Hello everybody.

Thanks Powerfam for starting this forum.  I think it will be a great resource for COMC users to discuss topics.

One thing that I would like to brainstorm is how we can all help to grow this site with more buyers and sellers.  This will help COMC to remain viable and for us to sell more or be able to have a larger selection to purchase.  Anyone have any ideas to this regards?

This is a good idea Powerfam. Thanks. You talked about wanting your cards to go to a good home. I can tell you love cards and are sentimental about them, Me too. Good for you. I am glad to find out I am not the only nut out there. I once bought back the exact card I sold a month earlier. Decided it was not happy, so I brought it home. Now it is happy, back in the same page it sat in for years. Good night all! Dpietrack

Thank you brother.  I was hoping that we would get more members at a faster pace, but I am satisified. Patience is a virtue. I am happy with the turn out, but am still disappointed that COMC has not came and joined our group or mentioned it in their blog. Also convinced they didn't want us to communicate with each other.  Bad for their business???  Anyone have any theories to this... please speak up. I love the COMC site and just hope they continue to grow for the better of the hobby itself, rather than a business for all.

Morning Powerfam

I do not think it is a case COMC's does not want us here nor care to join or even mentioning this site on their blog. You have to remember that they are a business and right now going through some pretty hard growing pains.
Customer service has to be the very top of their list and that mean getting "our" cards on their site. Without the cards being placed in a timly manner we as sellers would go someplace else.
I think they have done a very professional job dealing with the explosion of added cards being shipped to them and with all the added emails they get.
If we give them time to catch their breath, they most likely will do both: mention this site and even join in.

As far as COMC joining this forum.... Have y'all gone to this blog page:

http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/ebay-online-selling-shows/4934-checkoutmycards-com-207.html

Is this COMC's blog page?  It looks like Tim listens to the people on this blog.... At least he did for the last rate increase......  If the link above does not get you there, just go to the Home page on COMC and click on the link for Blowout Cards forum there.
Should we all join this group too???????
